Vintage Furniture.

In my world, vintage does not only apply to clothing and accessories...in my world it applies to furniture, bedding, linens, serve-wear, furniture accents...the list goes on.  I love using the unexpected piece of vintage furniture in an everyday way. In my house, that is a serious challenge because my husband from Swedish descent prefers clean and modern lines while I love and own a LOT of vintage furniture pieces. Peter is not a fan of the highly traditional and heavily carved furniture, so finding the right pieces is definitely hard. It is even more of a challenge now since we just bought our first home together. So far, the only place that we are both happy with is the entry way.

The moment I saw this dressing table I thought it would be great in an entry-way or foyer. The table is very low and I love the simple curved lines of the legs. I use the drawers to hold sunglasses and gloves. The mirror is constantly utilized for that last look before we leave the house.

The hat and coat rack is heavily carved on the legs and top, but the clean pole makes up for it. The coat and hat rack is a perfect place for me to place 2 or 3 hats that I can grab on my way out to do errands.  Both pieces juxtaposed with the clean sisal rug tones down the formality of the pieces.
